What Twitter taught me...

It's my first day on Twitter, and already I've laughed, I've cried, and I've learned an interesting lesson about the nature of various news sources. 
Having been subscribed to CBC, the BBC, the Toronto Star, and the NYT for all of 24 hours, I became decidedly depressed by the content of these "tweets".

Important? Not remotely. 

Which do I delete? The one that's depressing? Or the one that thinks Americans packing on pounds is news? And why am I learning about the Missouri tornados from Canadian news sources? I'm not implying they shouldn't report on it, but rather that the NYT should. Oh media...  what to do with you...
